Messages
Supplier conversations per project — email threads with in-app replies, plus WhatsApp chat import and forwarding.
What it is — the Messages tab of a project: every conversation with your suppliers about that project, in one place. Conversations are listed on the left (with a channel icon — ✉️ email, 💬 WhatsApp, 🤖 AI assistant); click one to read the thread on the right.
Email conversations
Each supplier conversation has its own private RenovAI email address. Outgoing RFQ emails and messages set that address as the reply-to, so when the supplier hits reply, their answer routes straight back into the right thread — nothing to forward, nothing to copy-paste.
Replying from RenovAI
Email threads have a compose box at the bottom: write your reply and click Send. RenovAI addresses it to the supplier, threads it as a reply (Re: the conversation’s subject), and sends it through the conversation’s own address so the supplier’s next answer lands back in the same thread. Your message appears in the thread as soon as it’s sent.
WhatsApp and AI-assistant conversations are read-only here — reply from WhatsApp itself to keep the thread in sync.
Importing a WhatsApp chat
Already been talking to a supplier on WhatsApp? Bring the history in:
- In WhatsApp, open the chat → Export Chat → choose Attach Media. This produces a
.zipfile. - In the Messages tab, click ⬆ Import WhatsApp chat (.zip), choose the file, and click Analyze.
- Review the preview before anything is saved: message and attachment counts, date range, participants, and — if a supplier contact’s phone number matches — a suggested supplier.
- Pick your name in the chat (so your messages show as “You”) and the supplier (an existing one, or type a name to create a new one).
- Click Import. The chat becomes a conversation in the list, attachments included.
This is a one-time historical import — it doesn’t keep syncing afterward.
Forwarding WhatsApp messages as they arrive
For ongoing capture, link your WhatsApp number in Settings under WhatsApp capture. Then forward any supplier message to RenovAI’s business number: RenovAI recognizes you, asks which supplier the message is from, and files it into that conversation.
Deleting a conversation
Click the 🗑 icon on a conversation in the list. The confirmation tells you how many messages will be deleted with it. This cannot be undone.
